Dear Mr. Baiocchi,
Just wanted to tell you about the PneuKnee brace. My son loves the brace, and feels that he can definitely be more active athletically with it than he can without it. He has improved his golf game tremendously, and with his job (roofing) he can perform movements never before possible. He says it is just fantastic.
After wearing the knee brace for several weeks he was able to make moves he couldn't make previously. Thinking his knee felt well enough to help install some flooring without the brace, he paid dearly. He had excruciating pain night and day for 4 days, and had to sleep in a recliner.
Because of this very bad experience, he can give testimony to the fabulous security the knee brace gives him and recommends it to anyone with knee problems.

Dear Randy,
I hope you are doing well and that you had a pleasant summer. I am looking forward to the upcoming Knee and Shoulder Update. I am looking forward to seeing you as well.
The reason I am writing is in regards to your brace, the Pneu-Knee. Originally, I switched to the Pneu-Knee primarily out of a sense of loyalty. However, I have been using this brace for so long that I have become an unabashed fan for this brace, perhaps for reasons which you never anticipated.
The brace appears to be effective for a variety of conditions, including those that require some knee stabilization. However, I found it rather remarkably effective for vague anterior knee pain without an obvious diagnosis, i.e., grotesque malalignment, chondromalacia, etc.
Originally, if I felt that the patient had a malalignment issue (subluxation, tilt, etc.), I would apply the brace and instruct them on how I felt the bladder should be inflated. However, on several occasions these patients would subsequently return to my office with the bladders different than I had instructed, and at times the opposite to what I would anticipate would be helpful. This has happened on multiple occasions. Most importantly, by finding their own zone of comfort these patients have been able to make substantial progress in relieving their knee pain.
Your brace has turned out to be very, very useful as all the other knee braces, including patellar stabilizing braces, on the market require the patient's physician to impose his own diagnosis and treatment plan on the patient. Which probably explains why they are only occasionally successful. By allowing the patients to adjust the brace, they can identify their own "ideal" alignment. I truly do believe that your brace is superior than others out there, and somehow or other we should consider getting a clinical study going.

I called him the other day and was delighted to hear him say how much he valued the knee brace. He had surgery 2 years ago and was never out of pain until he used your knee brace. I am sorry that it has taken me so long to report my overwhelming satisfaction with your Pneu Knee inflatable knee brace. I have been dealing with knee wraps and braces since 1959 and this is, by far, the best of anything I have tried. I have used the brace for two seasons of softball, basketball, and snow and water skiing. Never once has it failed me or made me feel that I had any instability. The design keeps the brace from moving and the air cushion does indeed optimize proprioception. The breathable, lightweight Airprene is a Godsend for someone that has had to deal with the irritation and rashes of standard neoprene braces.
For your information: I was diagnosed with stretched ligaments in the eighth grade. My knee would have a tendency to slide out of place. It would then slide back. This continued throughout high school and college, but not too often. In 1970, after a severe basketball injury, I had an operation that found a torn medial cruciate ligament (this was what I was told, I am sure). At that time cartilage (medial meniscus) was removed and nothing was done to repair the ligament. My adventures with braces began here. In 1983 I had a second knee operation to remove additional cartilage (50% of the lateral meniscus). At this time the surgeon found that my anterior cruciate ligament was totally missing - probably since 1970! I did not know this at the time and only discovered it when I received my records to give you this report. Knowing that my need for a brace is even more necessary than I thought makes me even happier that you have developed such a dependable and wearable brace.
I hope that you are well and I apologize for being so long with this report. Your brace and work in the weight room gives me great confidence to do my thing.
